The New York Giants gave the Los Angeles Rams an absolute fight while at SoFi Stadium on Sunday, but came up short for the fourth week in a row and were dropped to 0-4 with a 17-9 defeat.
For the second straight game, the Giants offense was held without a single touchdown. The last time the Giants scored a touchdown in a game came back in the fourth quarter against the Chicago Bears in Week 2.
Since then, no touchdowns — just field goals and losses. Welcome to 2020, folks. And welcome to the 2020 Giants way of football. It isn’t pretty.
But on the bright side for the Giants, they do have a solid kicker in Graham Gano, who for the second week in a row, had all the points for Big Blue.
In the second quarter, Gano made a 35-yard field goal that made the score 7-3. Before the end of the first half, he made a 37-yard field goal that cut the Rams lead to 10-6.
In the fourth quarter, Gano connected on a 27-yard field goal that cut the score to 10-9. And that was it for the Giants’ scoring, as no touchdowns were scored, but because they have a solid and steady field goal kicker, they were at least able to put some points on the board.
For the season, Gano is 9-for-10 on field goal tries, plus 2-for-2 in extra point attempts.
