While the Miami Dolphins have been closely monitoring the progress of standout cornerback Byron Jones this week as the team braces to host the Seattle Seahawks passing attack, Seattle has been battling some injuries of their own this week after a slugfest against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 3. And while Seattle emerged from that contest with a win, they did not leave unscathed — because the Dolphins will be hosting Seattle tomorrow with three key starters missing for the Seahawks.

The Seattle defense entered this week’s contest with Miami featuring ample concerns, but now they’ll have to face the Dolphins without 2020 1st-round selection Jordyn Brooks, standout cornerback Quinton Dunbar and All-Pro safety Jamal Adams. That’s a tough break for Seattle.
For Miami, it is a lucky bounce of the ball — one that no Dolphins fan should overlook or, conversely, turn their nose up to. The Dolphins aren’t a team that is going to out-class teams with consistency at this point in time and the need to learn how to win is still very prevalent after seeing Miami drop close contests in the first two weeks of the season. In a perfect world, Miami would want to beat their opposition week in and week out at 100%. And they’d be right to want that for themselves. But this young team needs time, patience and growth before they’ll have the capacity to do so and this isn’t a perfect world.
These injury developments are a lucky break for Miami.
The absences of Adams and Dunbar free up room to work in the secondary and the Dolphins would be wise to relentlessly attack their replacements until they prove capable to stop it. That’s what a team that knows how to win does. Will it be enough for Miami to actually claim a win in this contest? That’s hard to say. But we’re not going to have to wait too much longer to find out — the game kicks off tomorrow at 1PM EST from Hard Rock Stadium.
