Davante Adams, Kenny Clark both inactive for Packers vs. Saints

The Packers will be without WR Davante Adams and DL Kenny Clark on Sunday night against the Saints. Both are inactive.

The Green Bay Packers are playing it safe with two of their best players for Week 3 of the 2020 season.

Receiver Davante Adams and defensive lineman Kenny Clark are both inactive for Matt LaFleur’s team on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints.

Adams injured his hamstring last week against the Detroit Lions and didn’t practice all week. Clark hurt his groin in the season opener and missed Week 2, but he practiced to end this week and was listed as questionable. Instead of pushing the issue with the two players, the Packers took the cautious route and gave both Adams and Clark more time to get healed.

Without Adams and Clark, the Packers will be without a top playmaker in the passing game and a top disruptor along the defensive line. The Packers will likely start Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Allen Lazard at receiver, while newcomer Billy Winn – who is active after being elevated from the practice squad on Saturday – now has a chance to play snaps.

The Packers will also be without rookie tight end Josiah Deguara, who is battling an ankle injury. John Lovett, a versatile H-back type like Deguara, was signed to the active roster on Saturday.

There is good news: offensive linemen Elgton Jenkins and Billy Turner and safety Darnell Savage are all active. Jenkins and Savage were late adds to the injury report on Friday, while Turner hasn’t played in a game yet this season.

Jordan Love, the rookie quarterback, is inactive for the third-straight game. He’s the No. 3 quarterback.

Packers inactives:

QB Jordan Love
WR Davante Adams
DL Kenny Clark
TE Josiah Deguara
CB Parry Nickerson
OLB Randy Ramsey
