Coming into the game on Sunday, many had high expectations for the New York Giants against a depleted San Francisco 49ers team.
The 49ers were missing at least 12 starters from their Super Bowl 54 team from back in February, but it didn’t matter on this day, as San Francosco thoroughly dominated the Giants, 36-9, at MetLife Stadium.
Both sides of the ball were pretty bad in Week 3. The offense didn’t generate much excitement and the defense got pushed around. It was an ugly performance.
The one positive… Giants field goal kicker, Graham Gano, who was 3-for-3 on his field goal attempts.
The first of three field goals for Gano was a 52-yarder, his longest. Gano’s second was from 42 yards out. The final one was from 47 yards.
Aside from that, Gano’s points were all the Giants could muster up in one of the most lackluster performances seen in quite some time.
The Giants have a week to prepare for the Los Angeles Rams, but that hardly seems like long enough given how poorly they are playing and how they have regressed each week.
