Diggs just had more receiving yards than Cousins had passing yards

It’s too soon to know who won the trade that sent Stefon Diggs to Buffalo from Minnesota in exchange for a load of draft picks.

But if you’re in the Diggs’ camp after Week 2, it’s safe to say you’re probably smiling.

The Bills are 2-0. The Vikings are 0-2.

Great, whatever. But has Diggs actually helped the Bills win? What’s it like having the inaccurate Josh Allen throwing the ball instead of the super-accurate Kirk Cousins?

About that . . .

In Sunday’s loss to the Colts, Cousins threw for just 113 yards with a completion percentage of 42.3% and a quarterback rating of 15.9. Those numbers are very low. To save himself from those low numbers, Cousins did throw three interceptions, a very high number. Cousins has already thrown for four interceptions this season. Last season, he had just six. Total.

Meanwhile, Diggs piled up 153 yards on eight receptions and a touchdown in Buffalo’s 31-28 win over the Dolphins. This comes a week after Diggs had eight catches for 86 yards in his Bills’ debut. Through two weeks, Diggs ranks third in the league in receptions and is tied first in receiving yards.

Diggs wanted out, so the Vikings didn’t really have a choice. But it’s been painful watching Cousins look for Adam Thielen time-after-time, the only receiver he trusts on the team. There were more than a few times receivers like Bisi Johnson or rookie Justin Jefferson were open while Cousins forced a pass to Thielen.

Judging by the struggles of the Vikings through two weeks, this won’t be the last time this storyline pops up.

I’m guessing Stefon Diggs is paying attention.
