NFL fans roasted the Cowboys after a disastrous first quarter against the Falcons

So many fumbles.

The Mike McCarthy era in Dallas got off to a rocky start with Week 1’s loss to the Rams. And with an opportunity to bounce back against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 2, the Cowboys spent the first 15 minutes of the game forgetting how to hold onto the football.

The Cowboys found themselves trailing the Falcons, 20-0, after the first quarter thanks to a comedy of errors from the Dallas offense and special teams. The Cowboys fumbled four times in the opening frame — with Atlanta recovering three of those fumbles. The Cowboys also attempted a fake punt deep in their own territory, and, well, it wasn’t successful.

It wasn’t the kind of start that NFL fans expected at all, but they did enjoy roasting the Cowboys on Twitter.

The Cowboys would eventually get on the board with an Ezekiel Elliott touchdown in the second quarter. Plus, they are playing the Falcons. No lead is safe.
