There were certainly some head-scratching moments made, but quarterback Josh Allen did more than enough to earn Bills Wire’s Week 1 Player of the Week nod to start the 2020 regular season. Allen led his team to a 27-17 win on opening day.
Against the Jets defense, Allen had one of his better career outings, going 33-for-46 passing with two passing touchdowns, and for many, crossing that 300 passing yards mark with 312 to his credit is a very big benchmark in his career. Allen also had 57 yards rushing in the win with a score on the ground.
Despite losing two fumbles, which has been an issue of his in the past, Allen showed poise and spread the ball around plenty to the plethora of weapons that the Bills had acquired for him. In total, Allen completed passes to eight different players.
Receiving passes on the day from Allen were Stefon Diggs (8-86 yards), John Brown (6-70, TD), Cole Beasley (4-58), Dawson Knox (2-26), Devin Singletary (5-23 ), Isaiah McKenzie (3-17), Gabriel Davis (2 -16 ), and Zack Moss (3-16, TD).
Next up for Allen and the Bills is the Miami Dolphins on the road.
