After rising coronavirus numbers on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus and in the surrounding Dane County community, the school made major changes yesterday to both academics and sports.
Wisconsin Athletic Director Barry Alvarez announced a two week break for football and men’s hockey activities coupled with a number of instructional changes.
The university will be shifting to only online instruction starting September 12 for what Chancellor Rebecca Blank has said will be “at least” a two-week period. In addition, freshman who live in Sellery and Witte residence halls, two dorms near the heart of campus, are being put under a mandatory two-week quarantine.
So far, these protocols are only in place for two weeks. Stay tuned at BadgersWire as we continue to monitor this developing story throughout the week.
