The New York Giants will open the 2020 regular season on Monday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey and BetMGM has them opening as 5.5-point underdogs.
The over/under opened at 47.5 points and money line is currently Steelers minus-233, Giants plus+185.
Both teams are coming off seasons where they incurred many injuries. Pittsburgh played the last 15 weeks without future Hall of Fame quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (elbow). He is back to near 100% and will start on Monday.
The Giants played the first two games with Eli Manning under center before giving way to rookie Daniel Jones.
The Giants had loads of injuries themselves on offense. Running back Saquon Barkley (ankle) missed several weeks and was not himself when he returned to action. Tight end Evan Engram missed eight games and wide receiver Sterling Shepard missed five.
Fellow wide receiver Golden Tate did not play until Week 5 due to a PED suspension. And even Jones missed two games due to injury.
Last year, the Giants (4-12) were 7-9 against the spread but only 2-6 at home. 10 of the Giants’ 16 games went over.
Pittsburgh (8-8) was 8-7-1 against the spread (3-4-1 on the road) and 12 of their games went under.
