MILWAUKEE — Christin Stewart has battled more than his share of struggles at the plate this season for the Detroit Tigers.
But perhaps he is finding his stride.
Stewart, a left fielder for the Tigers and former University of Tennessee baseball player, had two hits, including a solo home runs as Detroit routed the Milwaukee Brewers, 12-1, Tuesday night at Miller Park.
He went 2-for-3, driving in a run and scoring another to help the Tigers nab a victory and improve to 17-16 on the season.
His round-tripper, a solo shot, came in the top of the third inning off Brewers’ starter Josh Lindblom.
Stewart is now batting .185 with three home runs, three doubles and eight runs batted in. The former Vol has drawn four walks and struck out 21 times.
