Former Wisconsin running back Corey Clement has had many lows and highs to the start of his NFL career. Going into this season, the Glassboro, N.J. native has been complemented by teammates on his play in training camp and looks to be primed for an increased role in the Philadelphia Eagles offense.

Clement made the Philadephia Eagles after being a long shot to make the team as an undrafted free agent in his rookie season and was a key part of the Eagles’ Super Bowl win with over 100 receiving yards and a touchdown. In his sophomore season, Clement played little because of nagging knee injuries that culminated in a season-ending ACL injury. Last year, he tried to play with a shoulder injury but was put on injured reserve and released by the Eagles at the end of the season.

Corey Clement was re-signed this offseason by the Eagles, and according to teammate and Eagles’ starting running back Miles Sanders, looks to be back to the form he had in his rookie season.

Clement is competing against the breakout Eagles’ star from last season, Boston Scott, for the role of passing down back behind Miles Sanders. If Clement is impressing coaches as much as he has been impressing his teammates, the job will be the former Badgers’ spot to lose.
