The Detroit Lions announced a personnel change at the bottom of the roster just prior to Sunday’s practice session in Allen Park. The team signed free agent defensive end Will Clarke.
Clarke worked out for the team earlier this week and passed through the COVID-19 protocols to get cleared to sign. The 29-year-old veteran last played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2018 season. He has notched seven sacks and 37 tackles in 53 career games with the Buccaneers and Bengals, who drafted him in the third round back in 2014 out of West Virginia.
To make room for Clarke, the Lions waived veteran offensive guard Caleb Benenoch.
