One day after being eliminated from the playoffs, the New Orleans Pelicans announced a trio of players will be out for Tuesday’s game against the Sacramento Kings. Guard Jrue Holiday (right elbow contusion) and forwards Brandon Ingram (right knee soreness) and Zion Williamson (right knee soreness) all will sit the penultimate game of the season for New Orleans.
Those three players are three of the top four scorers inside the bubble for the Pelicans. Ingram leads the team with 19.8 points while Williamson and Holiday are averaging 18.4 and 15.2 points per game, respectively. Holiday has been a workhorse for the Pelicans inside the bubble, leading the team in minutes played at 195, an average of 32.5 per game.
With that trio out, New Orleans will likely sport a starting lineup consisting of Lonzo Ball, JJ Redick, Josh Hart, Nicolo Melli and Derrick Favors. Many players that have largely been buried on the bench inside the bubble will likely see extended run in the likes of Kenrich Williams, Nickeil Walker-Alexander and even potentially two-way players Josh Gray and Zylan Cheatham.
