The Philadelphia Eagles believe they have a gem in Jalen Reagor and the coaching staff will work to turn their first-round pick into an east coast version of Tyreek Hill.
Similar to the No. 1 overall wide receiver selected (Henry Ruggs), the Eagles will have Reagor start out on the outside at the X and Z positions, but he’ll definitely see some time inside at the slot position, where he can do the most damage early on.

Last season the Eagles averaged 6.5 yards per attempt on passes thrown to wide receivers, so Reagor’s presence alone should help boost that number up past 10.5 yards per attempt.
Earlier this summer, head coach Doug Pederson confirmed that Reagor would begin to learn the “Z” spot in the offense behind DeSean Jackson, while Reagor confirmed to The Athletic that he’s learning both “X” and “Z” and wants to be able to move around the formation as well.
Reagor’s rookie season will hinge on how well the Eagles adjust to putting the athletic wideout in space regardless of how well he picks up the playbook. Keeping Reagor on the move and utilizing him in the slot would fully allow Carson Wentz and the Eagles to get positive matchups on the inside without sacrificing Reagor’s big play-ability.
