Bills’ Tre’Davious White still ‘undecided’ on playing in 2020

Buffalo Bills cornerback Tre’Davious White hasn’t decided if he’s going to play in 2020.

Those suiting up for the Buffalo Bills, and the rest of the players around NFL, have until Thursday at 4 p.m. in regard to making a decision on whether or not they will be opting-out of playing in 2020 due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

So far defensive tackle Star Lotulelei and cornerback EJ Gaines have decided to opt out of playing in terms of Bills players. On Wednesday, one day prior to that deadline, Bills cornerback Tre’Davious White caused the hearts of fans to skip a beat and put them on the edge of their seats for the next few hours.

While speaking on a video conference call, White said he’s “still undecided” on playing next season in regard to his right to opt out. White said he wanted to come into the team facilities and see how things are shaking out in the team facility before deciding. Does he feel comfortable playing under such circumstances?

While White would be a massive blow to the Bills in 2020, it’d also be a very understandable decision. Explaining his decision-making process, White said a lot of it has to do with his family.

“I was thinking of my little kids,” White said.

Buffalo safety Jordan Poyer provided some insight as to how the Bills are trying to make their team facility safe in Orchard Park for their players earlier this week. Poyer mentioned the Bills going as far as putting tracking devices of sorts on players which alert them when they’re within six feet of another person.

White said he can tell the team is doing their all to make players feel safe. Still, the Bills have had five players end up on the Reserve/ COVID-19 list already, and had to send players home one day last week. That’s what has White worried the most.

“They’ve been doing a great job, but it’s just the aspect of guys still testing positive,” White said. “Do I want to come in here and get my 11 month old sick? Do I want to risk that? At the end of the day, no matter what, my family comes first.”
