Due to a lack of salary cap space, the Atlanta Falcons had no choice but to try and get younger this offseason. The biggest potential change will be at defensive back, where rookie corner A.J. Terrell essentially replaces Desmond Trufant.
The team signed veteran Darqueze Dennard, — who’s best utilized as a nickel corner — leaving Terrell, Kendall Sheffield and Isaiah Oliver to compete for the two outside corner spots.
One thing that will help the Falcons’ young defensive backs is the presence of safety Ricardo Allen, whom head coach Dan Quinn credited with helping the team’s defensive turnaround over the second half of 2019.
It appears that Allen is picking up right where he left off. A video shared by ESPN’s Vaughn McClure shows Allen coaching up Atlanta’s young DBs, including Terrell at training camp. Check it out below:
