Twitter can’t believe Titans’ Ryan Tannehill made NFL Top 100 list

Ryan Tannehill made his first appearance on the list, and Twitter wasn’t happy about it.

Someone needs to tell the rest of the world that Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill was one of the best at his position during the 2019 season.

No, seriously, he was.

Tannehill posted the third-best overall Pro Football Focus grade among signal-callers in 2019, while also leading the NFL in passer rating and finishing third in completion percentage. He was also the best at four different types of throws.

The former No. 8 overall pick’s performance was enough for Tennessee to ink him to a four-year, $118 million contract extension this offseason.

However, that wasn’t enough for his detractors, who aren’t convinced that the 10 regular season starts that saw him play at a high level are enough to make them believers quite yet.

So, when Tannehill landed at No. 68 on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2020 list, there was an immediate backlash to it, especially given some of the players he landed ahead of.

Tannehill is one of three Titans from the 2019 team to make the cut, with the other two being cornerback Logan Ryan (No. 60), who remains unsigned, and defensive lineman Jurrell Casey (No. 71), who was traded to the Denver Broncos.

The NFL confirmed the Titans had three players make the cut before the list was released, and because he is available, Ryan counts towards that number, along with Tannehill. That means there will be some serious snubs from Tennessee.
