On Wednesday, the NFLPA announced that they had approved the protocols for the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic presented by eight different NFL teams, including the Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills, Carolina Panthers, Denver Broncos, Detroit Lions, Houston Texans, Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins.
At the time, the Giants’ Infectious Disease Emergency Response (IDER) plan had been submitted, but remained under review, which put their training camp start date in potential jeopardy.
However, late on Friday night, the NFLPA officially approved the Giants’ IDER plan.
#NYGiants Infectious Disease Emergency Response (IDER) Plan was under review by the @NFLPA, but it has now been approved – one of nine to get to that point in the league.

With the NFL and NFLPA also coming to an agreement on modifications to the CBA on Friday, that means it’s now full steam ahead for the the Giants.
Rookies, quarterbacks and rehabbing players began reporting to East Rutherford on Thursday, where they were then given COVID-19 tests and sent home (not to local hotels).
On Friday, a two-day stretch of virtual meetings began, which will be followed up by a second round of COVID-19 tests on Sunday. Monday and Tuesday will be used as physical days and pending any hiccups, we will likely see all the remaining draft picks sign their rookie contracts at that time.
Additionally, Tuesday will represent the first full day of training camp and should see the arrival of all remaining players.
