The Philadelphia 76ers got back at it in Orlando as they played their first competitive basketball game since March 11 against the Detroit Pistons. On Friday, they took on the Memphis Grizzlies in their first of three scrimmage games inside the bubble and they went on to knock off Memphis 90-83.
The game was not all that close as Philadelphia held a lead as large as 29 in the victory as they dominated from the start. Tobias Harris led the Sixers with 15 points and 10 rebounds, Joel Embiid played 12:57–all in the first half–and scored 10 points and six rebounds, and Shake Milton and Josh Richardson had six points each. Norvel Pelle, Furkan Korkmaz, and Alec Burks played well too.
A lot of eyes were on Ben Simmons who started the game at power forward with Milton moving into the starting lineup. He finished with nine points, seven rebounds, and nine assists with three steals. He even shot 1-for-2 from deep as he showed off a new willingness to shoot the ball.
That’s the final. Philly wins it 90-83 after leading by as many as 29.
