NHL Seattle, who, for the past 20 months has just gone by the name ‘NHL Seattle’ released their team name—the Kraken—just yesterday.
The Seattle Kraken really outdid themselves with the announcement, not just nailing the name, but also debuting two super dope logos and a pretty killer jersey design. Plus, they had a ton of “Release the Kraken” merch ready to go.
It was a big win not just for Seattle hockey fans but fans all across the NHL who now have another team that looks like it’a going have a blazing good time with a sport that often suffers from rigid traditionalism.
The buzz across social media was almost universally good, and, a little under 24 hours later, it looks like at least one super fan has already gone out and made their love for the Kraken permanent in the form of a tattoo.
Who did this?!?! Literally, who did this….I want a name! pic.twitter.com/dnL5HeWoUl

My love for the game of Hockey and the City of Seattle came together today.
The tattoo features both Seattle’s primary logo—the S—and the team’s secondary logo—the anchor that morphs into the Space Needle—in an overlapping design. It’s a great juxtaposition that I can see many fans mimicking in the years to come. Everything about this just works and even if Seattle never wins a game, it’s hard to regret getting something that looks so darn cool.
