Michigan State Men’s Basketball head coach Tom Izzo has been on something of a heater this summer. After receiving commitments from Max Christie and Emoni Bates, it has appeared from the outside that Izzo has developed some recruiting momentum, and has been reported to have had multiple meetings with some of the highest profile prospects in the country. The latest high-profile recruiting prospect to meet with Izzo is AJ Casey Jr., who reportedly met with Izzo and his staff today in a virtual meeting.
This news came from Jake Weingarten of Stockrisers.
Michigan State’s Tom Izzo and staff virtually met with five-star junior AJ Casey Jr. this evening, a source told @Stockrisers. Spartans really interested here.

According to Weingarten, the Spartans are extremely interested in Casey, which should come as no surprise as the 6’8″ power forward is the top player in the state of Illinois and a top-30 player in the 2022 recruiting class according to the 247Sports composite rankings. Casey currently plays for Tinley Park High School, which is about 30 miles southwest of Chicago.
