On Tuesday, Alabama quarterback Mac Jones was named to the Davey O’Brien Award Watch List.

The Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award is the nation’s oldest and most prestigious national quarterback award.

The award is given each year to the nation’s top quarterback who exhibit teamwork, sportsmanship and leadership in both academics and athletics.

No player in Alabama program history has won the award.

Jones finished last season with 1,503 yards passing, 14 TDs, and 3 INTs.

Here’s what Alabama had to say about Jones:

“Veteran signal-caller who has been in the Tide’s system for three years … played in 26 career games with four starts, all of which came in relief of an injured Tua Tagovailoa a season ago … totaled 1,626 yards through the air with 15 touchdowns across his two seasons of play … completing 66.2 percent of his career attempts on 102-of-154 passing.”

The winner of the award will be announced on Dec. 10 during ESPN’s Home Depot College Football Awards Show.
