Part latest news, part full run down. Recently we knew that conference calls with owners, player representatives and the NFL Players’ Association have happened and now it was the coaches’ turn to learn the details of the protocols required for a safe reopening this summer.

All 32 NFL head coaches, which would mean the Bills’ Sean McDermott included, participated in a conference call Monday, according to ESPN’s Dianna Russini.

The league already announced in June that training camps would open, as planned, at the end of July. We’ll see if that holds true due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Reports also already suggested the the league will implement protocols that will include standard COVID-19 safety precautions most folks are already taking, such as disinfecting, social distancing and using face masks, when possible.

In addition, the ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported last week that it’s expected that NFL teams will not carry the traditional 90 total players at training camp. There’s no reported number just yet for how many players teams are expected to carry, but numbers that were speculated were around 75 to 80 as a safety precaution.
