The Jacksonville Jaguars used seven of their 12 draft picks on defense this year, so it appears they will be relying heavily on rookies to revamp Todd Wash’s squad, which was overhauled for financial reasons this offseason. Among those selections were two first-round pick in C.J. Henderson and K’Lavon Chaisson, who Wash has already said he expects to be “impact players” for the team Week 1.
It appears Wash may not be alone in terms of his expectations for both as Vegas seems to view them highly, too, especially Chaisson. Per Bet MGM, they young pass-rusher has the fifth-best odds to win Rookie of the Year with 20/1 odds. The only players with better odds were Washington Redskins DE Chase Young (11/5), Arizona Cardinals LB Isaiah Simmons (11/2), Baltimore Ravens lb Patrick Queen (11/1), Los Angeles Chargers LB Kenneth Murray (11/1), and Detroit Lions CB Jeff Okudah (14/1).
Henderson, who was drafted first of the two, wasn’t too far behind with the seventh best odds (30/1) as Javon Kinlaw, Jordyn Brooks, William Gay, and Derrick Brown had 25/1 odds.
