The Alabama Crimson Tide has been voted the favorite to win the SEC West, according to AL.com’s 74th annual SEC Spring Football Report.

Alabama, who was the clear cut winner, was voted the favorite by the division’s sports information directors and compiled by AL.com’s Charles Hollis.

Alabama was also the overall No. 1 favorite in the SEC poll as well, ahead of the Georgia Bulldogs.

Here’s how the voting ended up:

  1. Alabama (36): 6 first-place votes
  2. LSU (29): 1 first, 3 seconds and 2 third place votes
  3. Auburn (29): 4 seconds, 2 thirds place votes
  4. Texas A&M (20): 3 thirds, 2 fourths and 1 fifth place votes
  5. Ole Miss (16): 4 fourths, 2 fifth place votes
  6. Mississippi State (12): 1 fourth, 4 fifths, 1 sixth place votes
  7. Arkansas (7): 6 sixth-place votes

Although the Tide was picked the favorite to win the SEC West last season as well, unforeseen injuries such as  Tua Tagovialoa’s season ending injury, prevented the Tide from not only winning the SEC West, but also prevented Alabama from participating in the SEC Championship game and the College Football Playoff.

This season, the Tide is looking to regain its status as the best college football team in the country. With Najee Harris, Mac Jones, DeVonta Smith, Dylan Moses, and more returning, the Tide has an incredible chance of winning a national title this year.

After all, Alabama has become a consistent favorite to make it back to the CFB Playoff, and for good reasons.

There’s no doubt that after the way last season ended for the Tide, they’re going to come back more hungry and humble than ever.
