Two of the biggest 2021 Irish commits got reacquainted on Sunday as offensive tackle Blake Fisher and defensive tackle Gabriel Rubio met in Fisher’s hometown. The two would have most assuredly seen each other prior to yesterday but with camps and campus visits being shut down due to COVID-19, they haven’t had the chance to see each other face to face in a few months.
Stopped by to see my brother in Avon, IN. A year ago to the day we both chose to compete at the best college in the country! When you choose us we are family for life!

Both players are highly rated, Fisher is the 54th overall player in the nation while Rubio is the 112th according to the 247Sports composite rankings. There is a lot that bonds the future teammates, as both of them committed to the Irish on this day last year.
Blessed to be able to share this day with my brotha!! One year ago today WE chose to commit to the greatest university in the world!! Grateful to have been able to see my brotha today! Go Irish☘️🤞🏾 pic.twitter.com/bUSlnjilof

Each has taken a role on social media to reach out to other commits and uncommited Irish targets in hopes to help Brian Kelly and his coaching staff’s recruiting forces. Their efforts hopefully result in Notre Dame getting commits from many of their top remaining targets in the 2020 recruiting class and many more get togethers like this happening in the future.
