Tennessee football: Players who wore No. 67

KNOXVILLE — The University of Tennessee has a proud football program rich in tradition and history, and over the years, many great players have played on Rocky Top.

Vols Wire looks at which players wore each jersey number for the Volunteers.

No. 67

The number goes back to 1941 in UT football history and it was first worn by Clyde Graven.

Graven, a guard for the Volunteers donned the number for one season on Rocky Top. It was later worn by Chad Clifton and Caleb Leonard.

Clifton was a second-round pick of the Green Bay Packers. He was a two-time Pro Bowler and was on Green Bay’s team that won Super Bowl XLV.

He played in 165 NFL games, making 160 starts, between 2000-11.

Leonard, an offensive lineman is a local product from Knoxville Halls High School.

He lettered in football and wrestling for the Red Devils. After a brief stint as a high school wrestling referee, he is currently an assistant wrestling coach at his alma mater, where he was a high school heavyweight state champion. He, head coach Shannon Sayne, former Halls coach (and UT alum) Chris Vandergriff and Chris’ son John are all state champions from Halls.
