The new season gives every player another chance to create or cement his legacy into NFL lore. Players will most likely have different motivations entering the campaign. Whether it’s further showing the player as one of the best at his position, bouncing back from a subpar season, or showing others their mistakes are a thing of the past, there are many reasons for motivation.
The Buffalo Bills are no exception to this rule: the team has several players that have something to prove this year.
With that, here are six Bills players that have “something to prove” in 2020:
WR Stefon Diggs
Stefon Diggs comes to Buffalo after a successful tenure in Minnesota. However, things did not end so rosy with the Vikings, as the wideout was reportedly unhappy with the direction of the Vikings’ offensive philosophy, among other differences with the organization. The Bills, in need of a No. 1 wide receiver, offered several draft picks to the Vikings for Diggs. While Minnesota reportedly stated they were concerned about their salary cap situation, it seems the marriage between Diggs and the Vikings had come to an unfortunate and inevitable end.
Diggs will want to show that Minnesota made a major mistake cutting ties with him. After all, Diggs is coming off two-consecutive 1,000-yard receiving seasons. He and former teammate Adam Theilen combined to be one of the most effective receiving duos in the league. The sixth-year pro will also want to shed the “diva” tag that some in the Vikings whispered about him.
