Danilo Gallinari posts video preparing for return by training in sand

There are probably few people happier than Danilo Gallinari right about now.

We have reached the point where it is beginning to seem as though the NBA’s return is more a question of “When?” than it is “If?”

Around the country, NBA teams are welcoming players back into their training facilities with some teams not even in the playoff hunt assembling their troops, as well. The prevailing sentiment seems to be that the season will resume sometime in July after team activities resume in June.

Like many of his comrades, though, it appears that Danilo Gallinari is attempting to an early jump on the competition.

On Sunday, Gallinari posted a video of himself doing some agility training in a sandpit at what we can only assume is the outdoor area of the Thunder training facility.

The video was posted shortly after Gallinari appeared on NBA Gametime and expressed concerned excitement about what is seeming to be an impending return for the National Basketball Association.

During the appearance, Gallinari expressed some excitement about his teammates’ ability to access the training facility and is also looking forward to a potential resumption of the season — assuming proper safety protocols can be put into place.

The Italian veteran had the following to say about his club’s momentum at the time play was suspended, via Thunderous Intentions.

“We were on a great run and so a two-month stop of course is not going to help. But you know the chemistry that we created and the way that we want to play, we already know what we want to do and the way we want to play, “That chemistry is just a matter of a couple of days or a couple of games to get back to that. and of course the goal is to get the home court advantage”

Outside of the United States, Italy is one of the countries that was hit especially hard by COVID-19. For that reason, Gallinari was impacted in a major way.

Now, fortunately for him, some normalcy returns. And if things consider to develop positively, he might be lacing up his sneakers for a playoff contest somewhat soon.
