Giants, Steelers already exchanging Week 1 trash talk

The New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers are already exchanging some Week 1 trash talk, even though the game is four months away.

The New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers won’t take the field for over four months, but already the two sides are exchanging some lighthearted trash talk.

Shortly after the 2020 regular season schedule was officially announced by the NFL, Giants wide receiver Golden Tate hit Twitter to celebrate the Monday night opening.

Although Tate’s comment was harmless, Steelers rookie wide receiver Chase Claypool quickly snapped back, suggesting Pittsburgh would take home the win before Claypool took home Tate’s jersey.

Both Tate and Claypool are Notre Dame products, so it’s possible they have a relationship of some sort away from the trash talk, which is why the Giants veteran took the entire thing in stride.

Steelers tight end Eric Ebron, who played alongside Tate in Detroit, also decided to get in on the action.

The game is a long way off, but the players are clearly getting a bit antsy already. So is Vegas, who list the Giants as early 3.5-point Week 1 underdogs.
