Touchdown Wire predicts Giants win just 4 games in 2020

Touchdown Wire doesn’t see the New York Giants making any strides in 2020 and predicts they will win just four games.

The New York Giants have been trying everything to reverse their dire fortunes these past two years. They’ve ridded themselves of many of their recognizable faces and are going on their third head coach since parting ways with Tom Coughlin after the 2015 season.

General manager Dave Gettleman is adamant about changing the culture of the organization and has turned over the roster and front office, bringing in loads of new faces to 1925 Giants Drive.

Nothing has seemed to work…yet.

The Giants have won just 12 games over the past three seasons and are 9-23 in the two full seasons under Gettleman’s watch. In 2019, they actually were a game worse (4-12) than they were in 2018.

Another new coaching staff is coming in and the view is becoming optimistic. The hiring of Joe Judge, one of Bill Belichick’s most trusted confidants, as head coach could be the breath of fresh air they need.

Barry Werner of out sister site Draft Wire isn’t taking the bait. He thinks the Giants will remain stuck in the mud and is predicting another 4-12 campaign in 2020.

“Not buying into Joe Judge being able to fix much as a rookie coach with a team that has struggled for a few years,” he wrote.

The Giants are getting some breaks that could help, however. They drew the seventh-easiest schedule in the NFL this season. Their opponents had a combined .480 winning percentage in 2019.

That sometimes means nothing as the NFL fluctuates from year-to-year, but you have to wonder if Werner took that into account. They play a third-place schedule this year in the conference and will face the NFC West and AFC North.
