Broncos move up one spot in post-draft NFL power rankings

The Broncos moved up one spot in post-draft NFL power rankings.

Despite having an excellent draft, the Denver Broncos jumped just one spot in Mark Schofield’s post-draft NFL power rankings for Touchdown Wire. The Broncos are now ranked No. 23, up from their No. 24 position in Touchdown Wire’s last power rankings.

Schofield noted the team’s potential to have a “scary 11 personnel” setup with Jerry Jeudy, Courtland Sutton and KJ Hamler.

“With tight end Noah Fant working the middle of the field, this could be a tough group to defend,” Schofield wrote of Denver’s potential three-wide receiver formation. “It might even make teams play more Cover 2, taking a safety out of the box, freeing up space for the running game.”

Potentially freeing up the run game will be great news for Melvin Gordon and Phillip Lindsay, the team’s pair of Pro Bowl running backs.

This ranking might seem a little low to Broncos fans but it’s important to remember that while the draft class looks good on paper, the players still have to produce results on the field.
