13 things to know about new Bills QB Jake Fromm

Things to know about Buffalo Bills 2020 NFL Draft QB, Georgia’s Jake Fromm.

The Buffalo Bills turned some heads a few times on Day 3 of the NFL Draft. After getting their long-awaited big wideout in Gabriel Davis in the fourth round, the fifth round saw the Bills take a guy who could potentially throw it to him at some point.

Jake Fromm won’t be expected to push Josh Allen for playing time coming out of college, but regardless, there’s backup roles and Matt Barkley’s job could be in question now.

If that happens to be unfold, Fromm could eventually be a snap or two away from leading the Bills into battle at some point in the future, so you’ll want to know more about him.

Some college career

The college game took Fromm by storm. As a freshman, he appeared in the National Championship game, but unfortunately lost to the powerhouse that is the University of Alabama, where he actually transferred from. During his three-year career at Georgia, Fromm went 621-of-982 throwing for 8,224 passing yards and 78 touchdowns, while only throwing 18 interceptions.

While coming up short in the national title game, Fromm did go to three SEC Championships as well, so he was a consistent winner. In fact, in his three years at Georgia, he had 35 wins. The most in all of college football during the span. That’s a heck of a stat, considering the level of play he faced in the SEC. In 2019, Fromm’s junior season saw some career-bests. He had 2,860 passing yards with 24 touchdowns, but the drop in talent around him saw his completion percent drop from 67.4 percent to 60.8.
