Former Alabama outside linebacker Terrell Lewis has been drafted by the Los Angeles in the third round (No. 84 overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft. It’s an exciting moment for the Washington (D.C.) native.
After struggling with multiple injuries to his elbow and knee throughout his college career, Lewis is ready to put that behind and make an immediate impact for a franchise that was in need of more help with its pass rush.
The 6-foot-5, 262-pound edge rusher isn’t as refined as some of the other prospects at his position due to the time missed with injuries, but he’s still got a lot of raw ability, which should help him eventually become a quality player.
Lewis finally managed to stay healthy for the entirety of the season in 2019, and while he ultimately decided to sit out the Citrus Bowl against Michigan, he still finished with 31 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss and 6.0 sacks to go along with a team-high 16 quarterback pressures.
Landing with the Rams is an excellent fit Lewis, as they are dealing with the losses of Dante Fowler Jr. and Clay Matthews at edge rusher.
