For the second consecutive season, the Browns drafted an LSU defensive back that slid it the mid-second round. Last year it was Greedy Williams, this year it is Grant Delpit.
Delpit was regarded as a top 15 pick before the start of the 2019 season and has his concerns tackling, However, most of the reaction was strong to the Browns drafting the Jim Thorpe award winner for the nation’s best safety.
Here’s what social media has to stay about Delpit to the Browns.
Grant Delpit started as a true freshman for LSU and averaged over 8 picks + PBUs a year at safety. Even with the tackling issues I feel like he's being overthought.
A+ first two picks for the Browns

Grant Delpit made 10 tackles and didn’t miss a single one throughout the conference championship and playoffs.

#Browns get my #1 FS in Grant Delpit. Played hurt a bit this year; he's got great football and ball awareness; he's also versatile enough to play both safety spots.

Grant Delpit stands out for more than just his coverage ability. He had almost twice as many career run-stops as the next closest top safety in this year’s draft. pic.twitter.com/IRJrFheWyh

Grant Delpit to Cleveland is a home run. What a pick.

LSU S Grant Delpit is such a steal for the Browns. I know his tape wasn’t as good as a Junior, but I think that’s partly due to a switch in role. He’s going to be a stud in the league. #NFLDraft pic.twitter.com/7pvFZjvCUJ
