Day 2 mock draft projects Cardinals take OT in 3rd round

How about TCU OT Lucas Niang?

The Arizona Cardinals will make one selection on Day 2 of the NFL draft on Friday. It comes with the 72nd overall pick. After taking Isaiah Simmons in the first round, in which direction will they go in the third round?

Will they target a tackle? Will they look at receiver or running back? Or will they continue to address the defense as they have this offseason?

In Draft Wire managing editor Luke Easterling’s Day 2 mock draft for the second and third rounds, he has the Cardinals going with an offensive tackle.

Specifically, he has them selecting TCU’s Lucas Niang.

Niang would give the Cardinals a player who could potentially compete for the starting right tackle job and someone who should at least take over in 2021, as both Marcus Gilbert and Justin Murray will be free agents.

Right tackle is arguably the Cardinals’ biggest need entering the draft. It would make sense to address the position in the third round.
