KNOXVILLE — The first round of the 2020 NFL Draft is in the books and as expected, no Tennessee players were selected.
Edge rusher Darrell Taylor’s stock appeared to rise late and some projections had him going late in the first round to the Seahawks.
But the Seahawks took Texas Tech linebacker Jordyn Brooks.
Taylor, however, will likely hear his name called Friday night when the draft resumes at 7 p.m. ET with the second and third rounds.
He might have been selected Thursday if he was perceived as more than just a pass rusher.
Wide receiver Jauan Jennings, a 6-foot-3, 215-pound wide receiver from Murfreesboro, Tenn. is projected largely as a late-round pick on Saturday, but The Sporting News has him tabbed as a third-round pick, going at No. 88 to the New Orleans Saints.
Linebacker Daniel Bituli is projected to go in the late rounds if he gets selected.
If not, he may come out better should he sign as an unrestricted free agent. The 6-foot-2, 246-pound linebacker from Nashville was an emotional defensive leader for the Volunteers in 2019.
Other NFL prospects include wide receiver Marquez Callaway, safety Nigel Warrior and tight end Dominick Wood-Anderson.
