After selecting Henry Ruggs III with the No. 12 overall pick, the Raiders made their second pick in the first round, selecting Ohio State cornerback Damon Arnette.
Arnette started all 11 games for Ohio State in 2019, totaling eight pass deflections and one interception. He is the second cornerback from Ohio State drafted in the first round.
Arnette is expected to compete for one of the starting cornerback jobs with Trayvon Mullen. He is a physical corner who has a ton of experience against top-flight receivers. While it may be a little earlier than many expected, Arnette fills a position of need for the Raiders.
