The 49ers added to their defensive line by selecting South Carolina defensive lineman Javon Kinlaw with the No. 14 pick in the NFL draft.
Kinlaw is 6-5, 324 pounds and athletic enough to be a game wrecking pass rusher on the interior. He’s also versatile enough to play all over the line, and should slot in as an adequate replacement for DeForest Buckner right away.
Kinlaw played 29 games for the Gamecocks and posted 82 tackles, 17 tackles for loss and 10 sacks. He may not step in and be a Pro Bowler right away, but his ceiling is as high as any defensive player’s in this draft.
Javon Kinlaw's 90.7 pass rush grade was second highest among interior linemen in this draft class. #49ers
