The Baltimore Ravens aren’t even on the clock yet and we already have our first fireworks of the night in the 2020 NFL Draft. The Cincinnati Bengals had the first-overall pick and to the surprise of nobody, they selected LSU quarterback Joe Burrow.
The Ravens’ newest addition, defensive end Calais Campbell, wasted no time in, shall we say, “welcoming” the Bengals rookie to the NFL. Campbell tweeted congratulations to Burrow but also tossed out a little bit of a threat in the process, saying he can’t want to get “properly acquainted.”
Hey, @Joe_Burrow10, congrats on being the number 1 overall pick! Can’t wait for us to be properly acquainted

Campbell joined Baltimore this offseason via a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Ravens sent a fifth-round pick to Jacksonville in exchange for Campbell, who signed a one-year extension to create a more manageable cap hit. With Baltimore general manager Eric DeCosta having made overhauling the Ravens defensive front a top priority, fans are no doubt eager to see how the changes, which include Campbell, fare in the coming season.
Campbell will have plenty of opportunities to acquaint himself with Burrow, playing Cincinnati twice a season as division rivals. Considering Campbell has sacked quarterbacks 31.5 times over the last three seasons, Burrow might get tired of constantly being acquainted with Campbell and the Ravens.
