Michigan State Basketball and Tom Izzo landed the commitment of the No. 1 ranked player in the state of Michigan (according to 247sports) on Wednesday in Pierre Brooks II. Now, they will turn their attention to the No. 2 ranked player in the state in point guard Jaden Akins. According to Jake Weingarten of Stockrisers, the Spartans hosted Akins for a virtual visit on Tuesday.
As mentioned above, Akins is 247sports‘ No. 2 player in the state of Michigan for 2021 and their No. 13 ranked point guard. He is their No. 90 ranked player overall.
Four-star junior Jaden Akins completed virtual visits with Louisville [Last week] and Michigan State last night, he told @Stockrisers.

Akins is being heavily recruited by Big Ten rivals Michigan and Iowa. If MSU is able to land Akins commitment, that along with the addition of Brooks would be a huge coup in local recruiting.
