“Avengers: Endgame” theater reactions are just the thing we need right now

Relive theater crowds reacting to epic scenes like Cap picking up Thor’s hammer.

Things are brutal right now and I won’t begrudge anyone a chance to escape into whatever bit of pop culture nostalgia that makes them happy. As we all sink into our self-isolation periods, a lot of things that used to be old are trending again, simply because the thought of them makes a few people smile and remember less awful times. Earlier this week, Twitter user Scott Gustin started a wave of Avengers: Endgame nostalgia when he tweeted out video of the reaction his theater had to the incredible scene of Captain America picking up Thor’s hammer.

If you saw Endgame in a crowded theater, you know what I’m talking about.

It’s such a great moment, and reliving the crowd’s response is a reminder of a better, more innocent time when sitting together in a theater was something that we could all take for granted.

Gustin also shared the response to some other, incredible moments in the film, like the portals opening up.

And (sob) Tony Stark’s final “I am Iron Man”

It’s sent Marvel fans into a wormhole of Endgame nostalgia, as they share again just how much that movie means to them, especially now.

Anyway, it’s alright to cry. Go ahead, feel your feelings.
