The New York Giants will be reuniting with a familiar face in 2020, re-signing tight end Eric Tomlinson, who had spent roughly a month with Big Blue during the early part of the 2019 season.
Tomlinson announced the signing on Instagram, noting that things had been slightly complicated due to the coronavirus.
Tomlinson, who originally signed with the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted rookie out of UTEP in 2015, spent three seasons with the New York Jets from 2016-2018. He also spent time with the Houston Texans from 2015-2016.
After his brief stay with the Giants, Tomlinson had a cup of coffee with the New England Patriots and then finished the year with the Oakland Raiders.
The 6-foot-6, 263-pound Tomlinson has appeared in 44 career games with 32 starts, recording 17 receptions for 194 yards and one touchdown. He’s also recorded seven special teams tackles.
With the Giants, Tomlinson will join a tight ends room that consists of Evan Engram, Kaden Smith, Levine Toilolo, Garrett Dickerson and C.J. Conrad.
