The 2021 class for Wisconsin had quite the day of awards. The Gatorade state player of the year announcements saw UW 2021 commit Chucky Hepburn take home the Nebraska player of the year honor, while fellow UW 2021 commit Matthew Mors won the South Dakota player of the year award.

Mors led the Yankton Bucks to a 17-4 record, and a 13-3 record in league play. His Yankton squad finished the year ranked second in the state of South Dakota according to MaxPreps. This was the second consecutive Gatorade player of the year award for Mors, as he has now taken home the hardware in both his sophomore and junior seasons. This season, the 6-7 Wisconsin commit averaged 19.5 points per contest to go along with 8.5 rebounds. Mors and Hepburn are part of a 2021 class that at this early stage is the top-ranked class in the Big Ten Conference.
