Giants stay put, select Andrew Thomas in latest Pete Prisco mock draft

The New York Giants stay put and select Georgia OT Andrew Thomas at No. 4 in the latest Pete Prisco mock draft.

Pete Prisco of CBS Sports has been relatively consistent with his mock drafts, both pre- and post-NFL Combine — at least when it comes to the New York Giants.

Prisco has repeatedly mocked offensive tackles to the Giants at No. 4 overall, which is a trend that continued on Friday when he released his most recent mock draft.

This time around, instead of Louisville offensive tackle Mekhi Becton, Prisco has the Giants remaining in place and selecting Georgia offensive tackle Andrew Thomas in Round 1.

Andrew Thomas, OL, Georgia: The draft-niks might not be as high on Thomas as the teams are, which is why I have him in this spot. The Giants need to improve their offensive line and he could play a couple of spots.

Prisco may be onto something when it comes to the mixed opinions on Thomas. NFL scouts and evaluators seem to be more intrigued by him than the self-proclaimed experts. It’s also been a hot topic among Giants fans.

That debate would certainly reach fever pitch if the 2020 NFL Draft played out in the way Prisco has projected, which has the Giants taking Thomas over Becton, Tristan Wirfs and Jedrick Wills Jr., not to mention Clemson linebacker Isaiah Simmons, who falls all the way to the Las Vegas Raiders at No. 12 in this mock draft.
