The sports world has been turned upside down in the last couple of days. Almost any sport or event you can think of has either been canceled or postponed amid attempts to slow the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
Part of all those cancellations include the men’s and women’s NCAA Tournament as well as the men’s Big Ten Tournament. It’s a series of disappointing developments to say the least, but that all make sense for the health and well-being of everyone.
Reaction has been coming in swiftly too. It obviously impacts those tied to Ohio State. The men’s basketball team had the talent to go deep in both the NCAA and conference tournament, the women’s basketball team was headed to the NCAA Tournament, and both the men’s and women’s ice hockey teams were also a part of a very select group of teams playing for postseason glory.
All of that has now been taken off the shelf.
Here’s some of the most notable reactions across Twitter after the flurry of news hit us all over the last couple of days.

We will suspend all official and unofficial visits to our campus through April 20 while we continue to monitor and adjust to today’s changing issues. In addition, our coaches will not recruit off campus this spring while we follow the university’s new temporary travel guidelines.

Whatever happens, I’m blessed I got to play my first year of college basketball in a Buckeyes jersey. Just the beginning! 🌰#buckeyenation

You know we start the first week of June preparing for the month of March. This sucks. It’s terrible what’s going on in the world but it really shows you to not take anything for granted and live and love in the moment cause that stuff can be taken away in the blink of an eye.
