Kevin Durant’s latest workout caught everyone by surprise. The Brooklyn Nets superstar forward was explosive and got by his rookie teammate, Nic Claxton, with ease.
But just the fact Durant was playing teammates and not coaches or anyone else was a big step.
What was also surprising, and a bit overlooked because of the actual contents of the video, was the fact Durant is with his teammates on their current West Coast road trip. It wasn’t until recently that he made his first road trips with the Brooklyn.
But Durant was with the Nets in Los Angeles, and Jacque Vaughn was happy to have him on the bench:
It’s a joy to have him around. To be able to bounce ideas off him, to get his reactions throughout the course of the game. And to be a teammate and have him sitting next to you and give you confidence and give you support and give you guidance. It’s a luxury.
As it turns out, Durant will be with the Nets for the remainder of this trip, per Alex Schiffer of The Athletic. This means the forward will make his return to Golden State for the first time since leaving for Brooklyn.
Warriors were previously told he wouldn't be there. Plans appear to have changed. But it's unsure if fans will even be in the building. https://t.co/eCo2uoRAMw
