SDSU still has hope for a one seed
After a shocking loss to UNLV that ended a 26 game winning streak, the San Diego State Aztecs got another scare. This time from the Colorado State Rams. After a slow start, the Aztecs methodically worked their way back into the lead and held onto it.
The San Diego State Aztecs looked like they were still trying to get over the loss to UNLV in the first half against Colorado State. They got off to a hot start, but got ice cold and let the Rams dictate the flow of the game. The Aztecs leading scorer, Malachi Flynn, was held to two point and no made baskets.

Flynn then preceded to go off in the second half. Adding 15 points to his total and getting hot at the right time for the Aztecs. Flynn was joined in double figures by Matt Mitchell with 15 points and Jordan Schakel who finished with 11 points.
Colorado State was led by their bench in the first half. The reserves had 17 of the Rams 36 points and played excellent defense against one of the top teams in the country. Dischon Thomas led the Rams in the first half, finishing with nine points including his first two made three point shots of the season.

The Rams went ice cold in the second half. After shooting 50% from the field and 40% from three, CSU shot just 28% from the field and 10% from three. Only three Rams scored in the second half: Nico Carvacho, who finished with 17 points, Isaiah Stevens, and Kendle Moore. The Rams had a perfect opportunity for the upset and let it slip away.
The Aztecs now head on the road as they travel to Nevada to face the Wolf Pack in the last game of the regular season. The Rams will return home as they host Air Force on senior night.
