Nets unable to outlast Sixers in overtime

Spencer Dinwiddie, Caris LeVert and the Brooklyn Nets had plenty of strong moments on Thursday, but they couldn’t knock off the Sixers.

The Brooklyn Nets put up more than a good fight against the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday. After falling behind 20-4 in the first quarter, the Nets went on a ridiculous 40-8 run.

But that still wasn’t enough to get past the Sixers. Philly forced overtime, and the Nets weren’t able to keep up, only scoring one point to Philly’s nine. Brooklyn fell 112-104 to the Sixers.

Both Caris LeVert and Spencer Dinwiddie finished with 20-plus points.

LeVert led the Nets with 25 on 9-for-29 shooting (3-for-8 from 3-point territory). He also went 4-for-5 at the free-throw line, grabbed six rebounds and dished out five assists.

Dinwiddie went 7-for-19 from the floor (1-for-6 from deep) and missed three of his 10 free throws, finishing with 22 points. The point guard dished out eight assists and grabbed five boards.

Like Dinwiddie, Wilson Chandler came close to a double-double. He scored 12 points and had eight rebounds.

Meanwhile, DeAndre Jordan actually logged a double-double. He had a monstrous night on the glass (15 rebounds) and scored 14 points.

Joe Harris was the only other Nets player to finish in double figures. He scored 12 points.

Harris only went 1-for-5 from long-range, as did Garrett Temple while Taurean Prince went 1-for-4.
