The Falcons averaged 294.6 passing yards per game in 2019, good for the third-highest average in the league. Matt Ryan didn’t play his best football, but as we pointed out in our 2020 roster breakdown, quarterback should be the least of the team’s concerns this offseason.
Atlanta’s lack of a rushing attack combined with a defense that gave up early touchdowns like it was going out of style didn’t help Ryan’s cause.
In 15 games last season, the former MVP threw for 26 touchdowns, 4,466 yards and 14 interceptions, while completing 66.2 percent of his passes. Ryan had some great moments down the stretch — including a game-winning touchdown pass during a road upset of the San Francisco 49ers — as the Falcons won six of eight games to close out the year.
